Dwight Howard won his first NBA Championship with the Lakers and had a very interesting off season.
He made comments about wanting to come back to the Lakers but wanting a real contract this time and caught a lot of backlash for it, got married to girlfriend and LA Sparks guard Te’a Cooper and then signed a new contract with the Sixers.
One of the more interesting things that happened during his offseason is that he tweeted that he was re-signing with the Lakers one minute, deleted the tweet a minute later, then it was announced he was signing with the Sixers a couple minutes after that. Pretty crazy few minutes for him.
With this week being the start of training camp and “media week” Dwight obviously received questions on what happened saying
“At one point I did (think I had an offer), and that’s when you saw the infamous tweet, because I really thought I was coming back. But there was no offer.”
At least it all worked out for him.
