If Matt Miller’s report is true, Kansas Chiefs Offensive Coordinator Eric Bieniemy will not be the head coach of an NFL franchise during the 2021 season. Citing an unnamed NFL source, teams are concerned about Bieniemy’s membership of Andy Reid’s coaching tree as well as Kansas City’s current participation in the playoffs.
Been texting with an NFL source this morning who thinks there’s a very strong chance Eric Bieniemy isn’t hired for a HC opportunity this cycle.
Cites concern about Reid’s coaching tree and timing w/Chiefs expected to make another SB run

All four remaining playoff teams in the AFC have come from the Andy Reid coaching tree and on Monday reigning NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion, Patrick Mahomes, said “people are crazy” if he doesn’t get a head coaching job.
Mahomes even went as far as recommending Bieniemy to a friend and rival AFC quarterback, Deshaun Watson. So far, Bieniemy has interviewed with the Lions, Jets, Falcons, and Chargers. It is expected the Eagles will request an interview and after a very public disagreement with their franchise quarterback, the Texans have requested an interview as well.
All Bieniemy has done in KC is help a young quarterback blossom into the best signal-caller in the league and bring a high powered offense and the Super Bowl championship to the midwest.
Why does a man with this much success have such a hard time becoming an NFL head coach?
The Chiefs are a heavy favorite to repeat as Super Bowl Champions and will open their championship run Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
