The legendary Hank Aaron passed away this past week. And no sooner than the news was announced social media and the internet was swirling with rumors that ‘Hammerin’ Hank had passed due to receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.
Well it looks like the truth is surfacing. According to TMZ Sports reports, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office is ruling out the vaccination as a cause of death based on preliminary investigations.
‘Hammerin’ Hank and his wife took the vaccine at Morehouse College alongside Andrew Young and Louis Sullivan on January 4th and he was excited about his role in being an example to the community. Even commenting, “I feel quite proud of myself for doing something like this…it’s just a small thing that can help zillions of people in this country.”
I’m not a conspiracy theorist myself but having a mistrust in our medical community, especially within the African American community is understandable. We haven’t been treated with the most dignity or given the most honest when it comes to new diseases and vaccinations.
What I do know is that Aaron was a legend on and off the field and his life should be honored.
