Matthew Stafford wants out of Detroit.
Who can blame him?
At 32 years of age, Stafford has thrown for over 45,000 yards, 282 touchdowns and 144 interceptions. He’s still a very serviceable option at QB that many teams should consider. According to Josina Anderson, the Lions are looking for a “sucker” to overpay for Stafford’s services.
The tweet, didn’t mention whether or not the source was from inside the Lions’ organization, but it would be hard to imagine anyone within the organization would feel this way, seeing how they’ve been unable to provide him with legitimate talent since Calvin Johnson’s retirement.
Is Stafford worth the five first round picks the Texans’ are rumored to be receiving for Deshaun Watson’s services? Probably not, but Stafford is the best quarterback option behind Watson on the free agent market.
