Former Indiana Pacers All-Star Paul George loves to send a message when it comes to playing against his former team.
On Sunday night, the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Indiana Pacers 129-96 in a blowout placing them at 10-4 as a No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
Paul George with 8:33 in the first-quarter split through a double team from Domantas Sabonis and Edmond Sumner driving in for an emphatic one-handed dunk.
Doug McDermott gave the Pacers an offensive spark scoring 15 of his 23 points. McDermott went 5-7 from beyond the arc with Malcolm Brogdon scoring 16 points and eight assists. Sabonis followed with 19 points, 6 assists and 14 rebounds.
“Overall, I’d liked to say that were satisfied but we are not,” Doug McDermott said, via Tony East of Forbes.
The Pacers had the game within reach after Sabonis led the Pacers back 61-63.
“Indiana closed within two points early in the third before the Clippers put the game away. They outscored the Pacers 37-14 the rest of the quarter to lead 100-75 going into the fourth. Los Angeles made eight 3-pointers by six different players and Leonard scored 11 points,” per ESPN.
Paul George, Marcus Morris Sr. and Luke Kennard combined for 60 points keeping their foot on the Pacers neck in the the fourth quarter.
Due to the Phoenix Suns postponed game, the Pacers will return home to host Luka Dončić and the Dallas Mavericks Jan. 20 at 7: p.m. EST.
