They should have asked Jackie MacMullan to provide some context to what she meant when she told Kyrie this.
I’d like to believe she didn’t literally mean NBA players are property to their owners just because they are paid very well. I hope what she meant is that like any job or contract there are services that you are supposed to honor under the agreement.
If you chose to be an NBA player, you accept the guidelines under the CBA which in part is being included in a draft.
Sometimes, you have to just articulate what you meant better because this comes across badly no matter the intent. You never call people property especially black people, regardless of the profession or how much money they make.
