One thing is for sure, Kendrick Perkins is one of the best personalities in all of media. From his hot takes to his stories, Perkins has a lot to say. On a recent episode of All the Smoke with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Perkins opened up about his time in OKC with KD, Russ, and James Harden.
Upon arriving in OKC, Perk says the vibe amongst the team was “f***ed up” even though the Big 3 had a great work ethic to match their immense talent. He also talks about facing Tim Duncan and his beef with then on-air commentator, Steve Kerr. But his story about the 2012 NBA Finals is stuff of legend:
“When we went to Miami man, we could not get a win to save our life man. Russ and KD came to play, I had a couple double doubles, Serge was doing pretty good, but man James ain’t give us sh** and you know why. King of Diamond and everything caught a hold of his ass we couldn’t get a win. See in San Antonio he ain’t have a damn thing to do. We get to Miami it’s everything to do, we couldn’t get him to buy a bucket. He couldn’t get his rest, he was out every night.”
Did strippers and chicken wings really keep the Thunder from winning the championship?
