In what seems like the ultimate form of irony, a 22-year-old woman who was caught on camera physically attacking a 14 year old black boy after falsely accusing him of stealing her phone, was arrested just hours after vehemently denying very much wrong doing.
Miya Ponsetto was in a hotel in New York City when she noticed her phone was missing, according to her own recollection, she began asking people who were making attempts to leave the hotel lobby if they had seen her phone.
“I was approaching the people that had been exiting the hotel, because in my mind anybody exiting is probably the one that is trying to steal my phone,” said Ponsetto.
Gayle King then went on to ask if Ponsetto was stopping everyone who was exiting the hotel, Ponsetto clearly stated “not everyone,” before rambling and seemingly trying to talk herself out of the fact that she may have just made it seem like she was indeed racial profiling.
Ponsetto didn’t stop short of going on to play the victim.
“At the end of the day the dad did end up slamming me to the ground, pulling my hair, dragging and throwing me across the ground, so I will say that.”
There is no video that has been made public of this account, however, there is video evidence of her tackling the teenage boy.
Gayle went on to press Ponsetto about the context of her actions, the fact that she still hadn’t explained why the 14-year-old was the target of her anger for the missing phone when Ponsetto “Alright Gayle. Enough.”
Miya Ponsetto was arrested on a fugitive warrant in Ventura County, California. Law enforcement officers say Ponsetta was combative and refused to leave her car, she was forcibly removed. LEO also tried to stop her a full three blocks from her home, but she did not stop until she reached her home.
Ponsetto is currently being referred to as the “SoHo Karen”
