After Dwyane Wade’s daughter Zaya announced she was transitioning from Zion to Zaya and becoming transgender, rapper Lil Boosie didn’t like it at all and made some strong comments about it.
Boosie said that Zaya was a male who was only 12 and was too young to be making decisions to like that. He also said that DWade went too far because Zaya might meet a woman at 16 and fall in love.
Wade took the high road by not commenting on what he said even though Boosie caught a lot of criticism for his comments which he doubled down on.
Wade has now commented though. During an appearance on the I Am An Athlete Podcast, Wade says
“All the people who got something to say about my kids, I thank you because you allowing the conversation to keep going forward. Because you know what? We might not have all the answers, but we’re growing from each conversation. So I thank everybody for even hating and starting those conversations — because those conversations are starting other conversations.”
Looks like DWade will continue to take the high road.
