Jalen Rose on He Had to Check Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless on Calling NBA Players Scrubs and Feminine on Their Platforms

If you watched all 10+ hours of Kwame Brown’s videos you can boil it all down to one point he is trying to make.

You have to be careful how you label black males because those labels stick no matter if they are factual or not. A good example of this is Skip Bayless calling Chris Bosh “Bosh Spice”. Skip would say that he was just saying Bosh was soft, but it was often taken as Bosh was feminine and gay.

This is something that people still say about Bosh even though he is married with a bunch of kids. In an ironic twist, one of his teammates fit the moniker better than Bosh.

Jalen Rose went on IG Live to explain he tried to explain to Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless that this goes deeper than numbers.

When you called someone a Bonafide Scrub that sticks with them no matter what and Smith was still promoting that just a couple of months ago. Those types of monikers go beyond basketball. Kwame Brown had a solid if not spectacular career in the NBA but because of Stephen A. Smith all they remember is him being a bust and Bonafide Scrub.

Until last week they didn’t know what Brown had to overcome, that he was an honor roll student and had been smart with his money. They had no idea how many kids he has helped over the years.

I have said this many times, media controls the narrative.

Shoutout to Rose for always keeping it real.
