Russell Westbrook Makes History In Wizards 154-141 Win Over Pacers; Sets Career High In Rebounds

On Monday night, it was all grit and determination for Scott Brooks leading the Washington Wizards to an epic win.

“Russell Westbrook became the only player with multiple 20-assist, 20-rebound games in NBA history — Wilt Chamberlain is the only other player with one — and the surging Washington Wizards moved closer to Indiana in the Eastern Conference playoff standings by beating the Pacers 154-141 on Monday night. Westbrook had 14 points to go along with his career-high 21 rebounds and career-high-tying 24 assists for his league-leading 32nd triple-double of the season,” per ESPN.

Domantas Sabonis posted 32 points and 19 rebounds along with Caris LeVert finishing with 33 points.

The Pacers shot 49.5 percent from the field and couldn’t keep the Wizards from having their way in the paint with 96 points.

Without Malcolm Brogdon in action, the Pacers collectively have to rely on their ball movement which creates open looks for easy buckets.

Westbrook is putting on an MVP performance while focused on making the NBA Playoffs.

“Me, personally, I feel like I’m the best playmaker in this league,” said Westbrook, via ESPN.

If the Pacers can continue to score at this rate over 100 points and maintain leads, they’ll “peak” as Brogdon stated earlier in the season.

As the NBA standings continue to fluctuate in the Eastern Conference, it seems clear that the Wizards could see the Pacers for the Play-In tournament for the No. 8 seed.
