One of the most highly anticipated matches in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the Knicks had a great season making it to the playoffs for the first time since the Melo days. The series was also a showcase for star PG Trae Young. After a hard-fought series by both teams the Hawks eventually pulled through in game 5.
While New York had troubles all series long, point guard Derrick Rose was able to show there is still a little bit left in the tank for what made him a league MVP. Rose was averaging 22.8 points through the first four games of the playoff series before some injuries seemed to slow him down in Game 5.
Even as the Knicks fans taunted Trae Young all series long, Derrick Rose had nothing but praise for the young Hawks guard. And he even gifted Trae a jersey with a written message on it after the end of the series.
