The Lakers were surprisingly eliminated out of the first round of the NBA Playoffs this year, as this was also the first time that that’s ever happened to LeBron James. One of their role players who hasn’t met expectations is Kyle Kuzma, He averaged 12 points, 44% on FGs, and 69% from the free throw line.
Kuzma may very well be on his way out of LA soon, though. According to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, he is reportedly looking to bring his services to a new team and have a bigger role than he currently has now with the Lakers.
“[Kyle Kuzma] has been in this LA bubble, he’s behind LeBron, I think he’s ready for a new start with a bigger opportunity.”
The Lakers losing Anthony Davis to injury definitely played a role in the Lakers falling in six games to the Suns. Shipping out Kuzma could help with the possibility of adding more depth when it comes to role players around AD and LeBron. Since this report, Lakers fans have expressed their excitement about Kuz potentially finally leaving LA. Flip the pages for Twitter reactions.
