Before we talk about cultural appropriation…let’s remember who tries to emulate Black people and their creations.
Michael B. Jordan didn’t mean to use the J’Ouvert which offended Caribbean people with his rum brand.
“The “Black Panther” actor took to Instagram with a statement, which read, “I just wanna say on behalf of myself & my partners, our intention was never to offend or hurt a culture (we love & respect) & hoped to celebrate & shine a positive light on. The last few days have been a lot of listening. A lot of learning & engaging in countless community conversations,” per VladTV.
Many people spoke out against Jordan because he wasn’t aware of what was taking place.
