Rachel Nichols has been at the head of a lot of discussions after a recording of her criticizing ESPN for replacing her with Maria Taylor for their NBA Finals coverage.
The person that isn’t getting nearly enough criticism is the guy she was talking to, Adam Mendelsohn.
He is LeBron James’ spokesperson and he made comments saying he was tired of all the ‘Me Too’ and ‘Black Lives Matter’ stuff. This was at the height of all of the George Floyd stuff that was going on.
Mendelsohn has now responded in a statement to CNBC saying
“I made a stupid, careless comment rooted in privilege and I am sincerely sorry,” he said. “I shouldn’t have said it or even thought it. I work to support these movements and know that the people affected by these issues never get to be exhausted or have nothing left. I have to continue to check my privilege and work to be a better ally.”
Not sure anyone should believe his apology and LeBron should probably cut ties with him.
