Ben Simmons ended this season on a very bad note. He didn’t have a good Eastern Conference semifinals series vs the Hawks at all, as free throws were an issue, and he was afraid to take shots, such as a wide open layup in Game 7.
Many believe that Ben will get traded before the start of the 2021-22 season, after just being named as an all-star. Philly has reportedly been listening to offers, but aren’t happy with what they’ve been getting. They don’t like the fact that role players and draft picks are all they’d get for Ben right now.
“Internally, team sources view a lot of the reported offers floated around the league as transparent attempts to lower Simmons’ trade value below where it actually is,” said Kyle Neubeck of PhillyVoice.
“The Sixers are uninterested in packages returning multiple role players and picks in exchange for Simmons, according to a source familiar with the situation. As one specific example, a source told PhillyVoice the Sixers would not even entertain a discussion with the Sacramento Kings save for the inclusion of guard De’Aaron Fox in a potential deal, which they view simply as a starting point for talks.”
As of now, it looks like this is all that Philly would get for Ben. A team like Sacramento giving up a proven star in De’Aaron Fox just doesn’t make sense right now, especially with the way Ben has been playing over the last few months.
Ben has been hanging out with this girlfriend Maya Jama this offseason and shooting his shot at Michael Blackson’s fiancee.
