A few months ago, J. Cole got to live out a dream of his, and that was playing professional basketball. This was in the Basketball Africa League. He played for the Rwanda Patriots. He didn’t play that many games, and didn’t put up the prettiest stats, but he definitely seemed like he loved being out there, and enjoyed that experience of playing ball overseas.
Last summer, Cole also wanted an NBA tryout. The Pistons extended that offer, but it never actually happened. Now, Cole is getting some work in with some basketball drills. This time, with the Lakers’ Talen Horton-Tucker, and the team’s assistant coach, Phil Handy.
Handy posted a video of Cole getting shots up, along with participating in these various drills. He even went on to call Cole a “real student of the game.” Handy added that Cole got out of his comfort zone and definitely got better.
These last few months have been a great ride for Cole. In May, he also released his sixth album, “The Off-Season.” It. debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, and became Cole’s sixth consecutive number one album. Every album of his career has debuted at this top spot.
