Details on Person Turning in Package With 65 Pounds of Cocaine That Washed Up in Ocean That Was Worth $1.3 Million

In Florida, plenty of drugs are washed up on shore from the ocean, and this is happening once again. According to Chief Patrol Agent Thomas G. Martin and Newsweek, a large black packaged was discovered, which contained 65 pounds of cocaine in it.

This coke is estimated to be worth $1.3 million, as this was found in the Florida Keys. Shortly after being found, this “good Samaritan” turned it into Border Patrol custody.

For many other people, they would’ve kept this package, and tried to come up on $1.3 million themselves with it. Others simply don’t want to take that risk and do fed time, as evident in this situation.

Border Patrol agents also discovered a 2.7-pound brick of cocaine that’s worth $61,000 washed onshore, on July 20. This was found at the island of Little Torch Key, according to the Miami Herald. On August 5, 2.4 pounds of coke was found onshore at Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park in Key West. That was found to be worth $55,000.
