On Tuesday, the NFL world was shocked to hear that the Patriots cut Cam Newton from their team, in making final 53-man roster spots. This all but solidified that Mac Jones will be New England’s starter in Week 1, at home, vs Miami.
One of the people who didn’t like the move, was former Patriots CB, Asante Samuel. Samuel was one of the best CBs in the league for a long time, as he played from 2003-2013. He also won two Super Bowls with NE.
On Twitter, Samuel blasted Head Coach Bill Belichick, as he said Belichick “never surprises me. He also agreed with ESPN’s Louis Riddick, that Belichick is “cold-blodded.”
“Cold blooded is a understatement!” said Samuel. “But without Brady he is just another coach in my opinion.”
Samuel also added that he’s been wanting to get these things off his chest for seven years. In this rant, he also made it known that he thinks Mac Jones will do great.
“Make sure y’all save my tweets, I been having this energy for about 7 plus years now.”
