Ex-Pats QB Scott Zolak Says Rap Music is Distracting Cam Newton Unlike The White QB Mac Jones Who Doesn’t Dance and Just Works Hard

A lot of people think to be racist; it has to be something directly in your face.

If someone calls you the N-word or calls you a monkey, then yes, that person is racist. In 2021, though most racism is subtle, you might even miss it if you aren’t paying attention. Often, the people who are making the racist comments don’t even think they are racist, which in my mind, makes it even worse.

They are so ignorant that they don’t even realize what they are saying is racist as hell.

Case in point Ex-Pats QB Scott Zolak.

“I’d turn off the rap music first of all,” Zolak said on 98.5 “The Sports Hub.” “Because I think it’s distracting for Cam here. Because in between every throw, he’s dancing.”

Zolak continued, “He can’t help himself.”

The 53-year-old former signal-caller then said it’s a stark difference when compared to Patriots backup QB Mac Jones, who he said: “looks like he came to work again.”

“Like, he’s here to work. And everything is attention to detail.”

Do you want to know what is crazy?

Mac Jones loves rap music, and his favorite artists are Future and Lil Baby. White people have long thought that black people who are enjoying life means they are lazy. You can’t be happy, dance, or do anything with a white man telling them it is a distraction.

This is an incredibly racist statement from Zolak, and whether he understood what he was saying or not, he should be punished.

Imagine if he said this about a woman athlete?

What would the response be?

The fact that it is a black man, people, are just brushing it aside. Cam Newton and other black quarterbacks have had to deal with this for their entire careers. Nothing is ever good enough in the white man’s eyes, even if they win MVPs and take their teams to the Super Bowl.

When in doubt, just black rap music, it isn’t like they haven’t been doing that lazy racist take for 30 years now.
