2 Chainz: “Feds Watching.”
From The League of Justice, Amy Dash has just dropped a bombshell interview with lawyer Tony Buzbee that could be a game-changer in the Deshaun Watson massage misconduct case. BSO had reported on our exclusive Substack that the cops were looking into a possible sex trafficking massage ring in conjunction with the Deshaun Watson case.
According to Tony Buzbee, the case might be even bigger as he claims the FBI is also investigating Deshaun Watson, and here is why.
“He said to me [the FBI agent], he’s like, ‘look, what I’ve heard is that most of the reach outs occurred via the internet which creates jurisdiction for us,’ said Buzbee, describing his alleged conversation. He says the Agent continued, “But then I understand there were these two women that were from out of state, which obviously creates more jurisdiction as well.”
To break it down in simpler terms, if the Feds or the cops were able to establish Watson was using the internet/social media as a way to solicit sex from massage therapists and bringing them across state lines, that could be seen as human trafficking and a federal offense.
The Feds have really been trying to crack down on human trafficking. If there is some evidence that men are using online massage therapists to solicit sex as a way of getting around not being charged with prostitution, that could be a big case for the Feds.
The FBI loves taking down high-profile names even if their roles are small because it generates more buzz for their department and discourages others from trying it. You saw how hard the cops in Florida tried to take down Robert Kraft, they failed, but he was their big fish. With 22 women suing Watson and ten more filing criminal complaints, this might be an easier fish to fry (not to mention Watson is black and has far fewer resources and clout than Kraft). The real question and what I imagine would be tough to prove without some smoking gun is Watson’s intentions when he scheduled these massages? Furthermore, was he under the impression the women he reached out to were sex workers just pretending to be massage therapists as cover? Watson’s lawyer has already admitted that Watson just used social media to find women to give him massages and sexual acts happened, but that opens up another can of worms.
Things can get really blurry with the law when sexual acts happen when professional business is supposed to be taking place.
Rusty Hardin told the League of Justice that he has no reason to believe the FBI is investigating Watson, but he doesn’t know for sure because they wouldn’t tell him. Watson is still practicing with the Texans, but the idea he would be traded now is dead in the water. The NFL still hasn’t decided on what to do with him, even though they curiously lied about not being able to talk to his accusers. The accusers stated the NFL was victim-blaming them and asking them if they wore THOT outfits to the massage sessions implying the NFL might think they are sex workers.
The season starts in less than three weeks and with no resolutions in sight.
This case could turn out to be really small (settlements out of court) or really big (federal and state indictments).
Stay tuned.
