J.R. Smith was a solid role player in the NBA, from 2004-2020. He was able to win two rings, in 2016 and 2020, as well. Most of his time was spent in Denver though, from 2006-2010.
J.R.’s been enjoying retirement and now, is making some very interesting moves for himself. According to ESPN’s Adam Shefter, J.R. is enrolling at North Carolina A&T State University, a popular HBCU. He will be majoring in Liberal Studies.
In addition to taking these courses, J.R. will be looking into joining the golf team. This will be a go if his NCAA eligibility is approved. J.R. initially got drafted straight out of high school, so he should be good to go at A&T.
