The New York City Police are on the hunt for a group of motorcyclists who carjacked and assaulted a man driving in a black BMW in the Inwood section of Manhattan early morning on September 12th which resulted in injures to the driver.
A Video from the incident has been released by police shows the group of motorcyclists approaching the car. One of them was armed and pointed the gun at the victim’s face while one of the other suspects tried to hop in the car on the passenger side.
The suspect with the gun proceeds to pull the driver out and started punching him in the face and ripped off a necklace the victim was wearing. The man then hopped in the BMW and took off.
The victim who is an unidentified 23-year-old male was taken to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital and suffered a broken nose and a cut to his eye.
This is a bad sign for New York residents. Despite the drop in crimes overall from last year, vehicle thefts are up by over 15%. Felony assaults are also up by 6%. Mayor Bill De Blasio bragged about this past summer being one of the safest and blames the state criminal justice system for the cities spike in other areas.
