The Nets are expected to be NBA Finals contenders again in 2021-22. They still have their super team of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving. There have been some trade rumors lately surrounding Kyrie, though, and now, there are some more developments in this.
FS1’s Nick Wright reports that there are a “handful” of trades regarding Kyrie that even make sense for the Nets. Kyrie’s agents have also supposedly said that he’d simply retire if he were to get traded from Brooklyn.
Last season, Kyrie still dealt with injuries but averaged almost 27 points, 4.8 rebounds, and six assists per game. He might’ve dropped a cryptic tweet today, as he said, “My mask is off. Now take yours off. No fear.” People don’t know whether this involves Covid or just a subliminal shot about the trade situation.
In the end, many expect Kyrie to still be a Net when training camp starts in a few weeks. For now, though, the trade speculation is definitely interesting. Flip the pages for Twitter reactions.
