The Baltimore Ravens have been dealt a bad hand before the first game of the season. On Thursday, during practice, CB Marcus Peters and RB Gus Edwards seemingly suffered season-ending knee injuries on back-to-back plays.
NFL Networks Ian Rapoport added that the Ravens fear both Peters and Edwards may have suffered torn ACLs, which would end their seasons.
According to NFL insider Peter Schrager, Peters’ injury occurred during a routing drill he has done dozens of times.
“Marcus Peters was doing a routine drill, coming out of breaks, that he’s done thousands of times. Freak injury,” Schrager wrote on Twitter.
This just adds to the Ravens’ injury woes after they also lost their starting running back JK Dobbins to a torn ACL, not to mention their backup running back Justice Hill, reportedly suffered a torn Achilles.
Now that a key part of the Ravens D is gone as well as two big parts of their running game, Lamar will likely have to make a lot of plays in the running game if they want to even sniff the playoffs.
Peters was going into his second season with the Ravens in which he played a big part in the Ravens defense, recording 52 tackles, four interceptions, four forced fumbles, and nine passes defended.
