A few weeks ago, Cam Newton was released by the Patriots, as that was stunning news to the NFL. Mac Jones was then in the starting role, and many assumed that Cam got cut due to being unvaccinated.
In a new interview with his dad, Cecil, Cam denied that that was the case. Cecil also called the Pats a used Honda Civic that needed work done. Now, it looks like teams aren’t interested in bringing Cam in at all.
According to ProFootballTalk, zero teams have expressed interest in signing Cam right now. The best-case scenario for Cam would be filling in for an injured QB.
“His best play will be to wait for an injury,” said Mike Florio of PFT. “Even then, the question is whether the team will bring in Newton or rely on the next man up.”
Cam hasn’t been the same, since his shoulder injury, in 2018. Hopefully, he does get another opportunity soon, though. He still believes that there’s plenty of football left in him.
