The story of Bishop Sycamore definitely keeps getting more wild. They claimed to be a high school squad but weren’t even from any schools. They managed to finesse their way into tricking people that they were one of the top-ranked schools in the nation and even got ESPN to air their games.
The team’s head coach, Roy Johnson, went on to get fired as well. After they played two games in three days and even lost one of them, 58-0, one of their players ended up coming out about how Johnson put out a hit on a homeless man.
Now, Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine, is speaking out about the insanity that has been Bishop Sycamore on Twitter.
“Like many Ohioans, I am concerned by the recent reports and questions raised about Bishop Sycamore,” DeWine said. “While this weekend’s football game brought concerns about the health and safety of players, it also raised red flags about the school’s operations.”
DeWine is also requesting an investigation to the Ohio Department of Education. DeWine added that whether Bishop Sycamore met the standards of Ohio law is unclear. It’s definitely safe to say that they didn’t.
