25-year-old Precious Stephens is in serious legal trouble in New Orleans after using her 911 operating job for horrible reasons. According to NOLA.com, she’s been intentionally hanging up on callers without taking down the information they sent to her.
Stephens is currently on the run, as she is facing a charge of a count of malfeasance in office. She has since been fired from her 911 operator position. This job is located at the Orleans Parish Communication District.
This situation started on August 24, as the district stated that Stephens started to mishandle her job. They concluded that Stephens started acting this way from August 20-21.
“(The district) has and will continue to cooperate with the … investigation into this matter and dedicated to providing any and all assistance to aid in (the) efforts.”
At this point, Stephens faces five years in prison. It’ll be interesting to see how she fights this in court and what plea she ends up trying to reach.
