Teams have their media days next week, and then training camps will start shortly after that.
Yet, the Ben Simmons saga continues. He reportedly told the Sixers that he doesn’t plan to show up to training camp and wants to be traded.
The Sixers have been trying to trade him, but the price seems to be too high. A trade that has been talked about is Ben for Kyrie Irving. It makes sense for both teams, and it would be easy for the Nets to hide Ben on offense.
Stephen A. Smith made headlines for saying the Nets would have traded for Ben, but Kevin Durant wouldn’t have allowed it. People ran with it and thought that it meant that the Nets had a trade ready to go and KD had to come in to tell them to stop the trade.
He’s now clarified what he said, saying that he just said that they *would have* traded him, but they know KD wouldn’t allow it.
I can see how people think he was saying the Nets had a trade ready to go through.
