One of the problems with creating a superteam is that you have too many cooks in the kitchen.
The successful Super Teams over the years have two MEGASTARS, one Superstar, and potentially one all-star or very clutch player. You can also have one MEGASTAR, one Superstar, and one all-star and make things work. Everyone else needs to be role players and play their roles exceptionally.
For example, KD, Steph, Klay, and Draymond were perfect superteam.
LeBron, Wade and Bosh perfect superteam. All of those guys were in their prime when they played together. What the Lakers are trying to do is interesting. They have TWO MEGASTARS but have filled the roster with past their prime all-stars like Westbrook, Rond, Carmelo, Dwight Howard, and more.
Two games in, it doesn’t look good, but it is still early. You can see LeBron is already annoyed after blowing a lead to the Warriors and getting blown out by the Suns.
Cam Payne was talking a little trash, and the King wasn’t haven’t it.
“Stay humble. You were at home a year and a half ago, now you wanna pop off? Don’t do that.”
This is true. Payne was playing in China a couple of years ago before finding a home as Chris Paul’s backup with the Suns.
I do think you can’t be bowing down to LeBron just because he tells you to. Keep talking your sh*t as long as it isn’t personal you have to let him know you belong on that court as much as he does.
LeBron is just a little salty because the Lakers have started 0-2. Once again, it isn’t a big deal. There are a lot of bad teams in the NBA. The Lakers are going to win more than they lose. It is just a matter of time.
The West is loaded, though, and many teams are confident they can make a run to the title, so it will be an interesting season.
