Reading the room is an extremely underrated skill.
Former Texans QB, and brother of current Raiders QB, David Carr, doesn’t have that skill and has been getting criticized nonstop.
Shortly after news broke that Raiders WR was arrested and charged for driving while drunk, crashing his car, which resulted in the death of a 23-year-old young woman, the older Carr tweeted out how his brother deserved to be MVP and that would be making the Super Bowl.
It was extremely tone-deaf, and absolutely no one cared about that at that moment because his brother’s teammate had just been arrested, and a young lady lost her life.
After being criticized, he apologized, but his apology was again tone-deaf because he mentioned how he couldn’t imagine another team dealing with so much off the field as if that’s what’s really important saying.
“I’ll try this again, my apologies if the last tweet sounded incentive (sic), I just can’t imagine another team having to deal with so much off the field,” “It obviously hits a little too close to home for a brother.”
It would have been better to just leave it at “I’m sorry” and say nothing else. He deleted both tweets.
While David was fumbling over his words, Derek was being much more supportive.
I will always be here for him,” Carr said. “That won’t change. I’ll prove that over the course of time to him. Not to anybody else.
“He needs people to love him right now. He’s probably feeling a certain type of way about himself right now. He needs to be loved. If no one else will do it, I’ll do it.”
Derek Carr isn’t lying since the Raiders have begun to scrub Ruggs from their history and have pulled all his merchandise from the team store.
