Robert Sarver just won’t learn to shut his mouth because it’ll only make things worse.
ESPN broke the news on allegations of Sarver using racist words and the n-word within the Phoenix Suns organization.
It wasn’t until Sarver asked, “why does Draymond Green get to run up the court and say n****?”
However, Green responded to him with Tweets after he was called out for using the word.
“It’s crazy. Crazy allegations. Very crazy allegations,” Green said. “I don’t know. We’ll see what happens. But pretty serious allegations, so it’s interesting. Very interesting.”
According to the ESPN article, Sarver entered the coaches’ locker room after a 2016 game against the Warriors and said: “Why does Draymond Green get to run the court and say (n-word)?”
Watson, who is Black and Hispanic, reportedly told the white owner twice that he couldn’t use the word.
Green goes on to speak about double standards.
“I do wonder if I was getting investigated for something, would I still be able to be around the team? Would I still be able to freely come to the game? Would I still be able to freely come to practice? I don’t know. I don’t know the answer to those questions,” Green said. “I do know what I think. I don’t know if I’d be sitting here, finishing shootaround and talking to you if I was being investigated. I just hope there aren’t any double-standards.
“Just because there’s a governor of a team, we’re all still a part of this league. I just hope that the same standards that we have for players is the same that we have for everyone who is a part of this league.
Green does make a very good point.
At the end of the day, NBA owners should be put on notice because Donald Sterling wasn’t a learned lesson for Sarver.
