After 15 years, Daniel Craig has just ended his run as legendary spy James Bond — and now, Dwayne’ The Rock’ Johnson wants to fill in and become the next James B0nd.
The hunt is on for the next actor who will portray 007, and Dwayne Johnson strongly believes he is the best actor to become the next James Bond, and he’s determined to get the gig.
Dwayne Johnson wants to be the next James Bond is on the high heels of his grandfather, Peter Fanene Maivia, being a “SPECTRE” villain in “You Only Live Twice” (1967) during the late Sir Sean Connery’s time as Bond.
“Yes, my grandfather was a Bond villain in You Only Live Twice with Sean Connery. It was very, very cool. And I would like to follow in his footsteps and be the next Bond. I don’t wanna be a villain. Gotta be Bond.”
Fans of the Bond films will recall that the latest franchise star, Daniel Craig, recently wrapped up his five-film tenure as Agent 007 in No Time to Die. While Craig’s predecessor has yet to be chosen, Mission: Impossible director Christopher McQuarrie recently said he thinks English actor Henry Cavill would “make an excellent Bond.” McQuarrie directed Cavill in 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
The next James Bond is yet to be announced, and we ask, could Dwayne Johnson expressing his interest in becoming the next James Bond influence those in charge to give him the gig?
Of course, one of the issues The Rock would have is that he is America, and an English actor has always portrayed Bond because he works for MI6. Rules can be broken going forward, and you know if The Rock is Bond, there will be a few Rock Bottoms on those villains’ candy asses.
