Enes Kanter of the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association claims that NBA legend Michael Jordan has done nothing for the Black community.
Enes Kanter made the above claim when he made an appearance on CNN. Here is what he said via Vladtv:
“LeBron James is one of them but not many people are talking about Michael Jordan,” Kanter said. “Michael Jordan hasn’t done anything, nothing, for the Black community in America besides just, you know, giving them money. I feel like we need to call out these athletes. At least LeBron James is going out there and being the voice of all those people who are oppressed in America, but Michael Jordan has not done anything for the Black community because he cares too much about his shoe sales all over the world and America.”
It seems Enes Kanter is on a mission of dragging Black NBA players. Last week, he called out LeBron James for his “disgusting” silence on China’s alleged forced labor practices.
Kanter argued that LeBron was silent on the issues due to the risk it would have on the manufacturing and sales of his shoes. During his CNN discussion, he continued talking about LeBron before highlighting Michael Jordan.
You really get the feeling that Kanter is going to talk his way out of the NBA. I believe he has some strong talking points, but going after LeBron and Michael Jordan might not be the best way to get people to hear your overall messages.
It would be more helpful if Kanter could get LeBron and Jordan on his side, but it looks like he has burned all those bridges at the moment. If he doesn’t end up in the league next season, you will know why.
