During Kanye West’s viral Drink Champs interview, he let everyone know that he’s yet to pay Beanie Sigel for coming up with the Yeezy name.
Kanye said:
“I still owe Beanie money and I’ve been trying to give him this money for a minute. I’m like, ‘This man made up the name.'”
According to Beanie while responding to Kanye’s interview in a show in Philly:
“I got a phone call from the muthaf**ka the other day. He said Sig gon’ get $50 million and a five percent stock in Yeezy. And I don’t know if n***as know, Yeezys did $1.7 billion last year.”
Freeway recently met with Beanie and posted photos of their linkup and then asked in the caption if Kanye West has dropped a check for him for coming up with the Yeezy name.
He wrote:
“Me: so did bro cut the check yet??😁 inquiring minds wanna know😩 Beans: 🎶excuse me is you saying something,HaHa you can’t tell me nothing….. 🎶😆😂🤣🤣 lol #sp#fta“.
Beanie later Sigel spoke to TMZ saying:
“I did name him that, but as far as his business mind and where he took it, Kanye worked hard for this. Kanye don’t owe me nothing. I don’t know if I would take a number. Because you give somebody a fish today, he gon’ eat for the day. If you teach somebody how to fish, he’s gon’ eat forever. He’s gon’ teach his family how to fish.”
“It’s all love, bro. Whatever you got on the table, man, let’s sit down, let’s talk. It ain’t a dollar amount that’s on our relationship, ain’t nothing that I’ve done that I wouldn’t do it again, bro. You don’t owe me nothing but love, bro. But let’s get to some money, let’s get to some music, let’s get to some fashion, let’s get to some movies. We can do all that, and the rest will fall in place.”
