Kelly Stafford has apologized and taken full responsibility for her actions.
Total Pro Sports reports that:
Kelly Stafford apologized for throwing a pretzel at a fan during an altercation in the stands at Levi Stadium. She took full responsibility for her actions.
During Tuesday’s installment of her podcast, “The Morning After with Kelly Stafford,” Kelly addressed the incident while relaying her husband’s response.
“He said, ‘Well, I wish I was as accurate as you were, but I guess only one person in the family was accurate that night,’” Kelly shared.
Kelly added that the 13-year quarterback also said, “Maybe if I wasn’t playing so s—ty the guy wouldn’t be able to say as much to you.”
“To that, I looked at [Stafford] and I was like, ‘This guy would have said anything all night,’” she said, noting that the couple also decided that she’ll press pause on away games for the time being.
“Listen, football and going to games, it’s fun, and in the end too, both sides need to be held accountable for what they do, and for my family and myself, this isn’t just a fun Sunday or a fun Monday, this is my husband’s livelihood, our family’s livelihood,” she said. “This is also nerve-wracking because anything can happen at any given moment on that field, which terrifies me. My anxiety is always high and so when I’m getting heckled at, or when I’m hearing all these things, yeah, I lose my cool and I did.”
“I’m human, I make mistakes, and I own up to them, I don’t f—king hide from them, that’s not me,” she said. “I’ve always been taught, I wear my heart on my sleeve so I do stuff probably in a hot second, but I also realize in a hot second, not the best, and I go up and I apologize.”
