Sargent Gracelyn Trimble says she has proof that Vikings Dalvin Cook abused her.
She released texts and photos to the Star Tribune.
The text message is the most damning evidence against Cook. Cook apologized for the situation and said he would understand if she went to the police.
Trimble then points out the injuries to her face and that she might not even be able to see her family for Thanksgiving because of the severity of those injuries.
Cook’s lawyer said Trimble was the aggressor, and the injuries were because Cook was defending himself. They released a video of Trimble threatening to get a gun and shoot Cook.
Even after this, they both still saw each other for a time before breaking up.
Neither Trimble nor Cook called police or filed a report about the night in dispute. The lawsuit includes text messages purportedly from Cook to Trimble saying, “I know what I did can’t be rewind…If you wanna go to the police I’ll respect that I’ll take my punishment for what I did!”
They saw each other off and on afterward until permanently splitting in May.
Valentini counters that Cook was the victim of assault that night, and that he was defending himself after she entered his home without his consent, punched and Maced him, then held him hostage with a firearm. He contends Trimble was knocked to the ground when Cook tried to stop an attack on one of his guests.
Domestic violence is terrible on all sides, and toxic relationships aren’t cute. I hope the truth comes out, and both Trimble and Cook realize that they were awful for each other, and this should have never escalated to this point.
Trimble is suing Cook for $13 million.
