Will and Jada Smith used to be every black couple’s ideal relationship for what seems like years now. The image of the couple has changed for the worse as Jada has constantly been dragging Will, sharing every sorted detail of the couple’s marriage.
In his new book, Will, the Fresh Prince recalled sorting to taking a South American psychoactive brew 14 times and even visited a tantric sex expert during his time away from his wife.
According to Will, the split from Jada came after her 40th birthday party, which Will had planned himself. In a three-day celebration for Jada’s 40th, Will got Mary J. Blige to perform and took his wife on many lavish dinners and outdoor outings. Despite going all out for his wife’s birthday party, Jada dismissed his show of affection as “the most disgusting display of ego I have ever seen in my life” before making him cancel the rest of the festivities.
Will told Jada after the fallout that he ‘retires from trying to make her happy,’ and he should go do him, and she should go do her.
Although Will said he didn’t want a divorce, they just needed some time apart. During their time apart, Smith went on a spiritual journey. He sought out a shaman, who gave him the psychotropic tea ayahuasca, which produces visions to whoever takes the psychedelic. Smith describes his trip, where he said he felt like he was “floating deep in outer space” and recalled being visited by an “unseeable woman” who he referred to as “Mother.”
After the trip, the actor concluded, “If I’m this beautiful, I don’t need #1 movies to feel good about myself. If I’m this beautiful, I don’t need hit records to feel worthy of love. If I’m this beautiful, I don’t need Jada or anyone else to validate me.”
Will said he took ayahuasca 13 more times before meeting with an intimacy coach and tantric sex expert, Michela Bohm. In another weird twist, Smith and Boehm helped Will make his own hypothetical sex list of women he would like to have in his hypothetical harem.
There’s a lot more to unpack from Will’s new book and the couple’s recent meanderings. Smith even addressed the Tupac topic involving the late rapper and his wife’s relationship.
