Wherever there is an opportunity to make money, no matter the situation, you better believe that Floyd Mayweather will entertain the opportunity.
Money May will step back in the ring for another exhibition bout, against a YouTuber. No not Jake Paul, but ‘Dubai’s richest teenager’ Rashed Belhasa, who also goes by the nickname ‘Money Kicks.’ Similar to Mayweather, Belhasa has created a brand for himself by showing off his expensive lifestyle which includes flashing his cars, clothes, and sneakers.
I get the cross combat sport matches like when Floyd fought McGregor or even the fight against Logan Paul, but from the looks of this kid’s pictures in the ring, he looks like he doesn’t weigh more than 160 lbs soaking wet. He has a huge following on Instagram and has taken pictures with rappers like DaBaby, Fat Joe, A Boogie, and even Logan Paul.
As much of a savvy businessman, Floyd is, this fight will be a photo op against two people with massive followings on social media looking to make money off what will be a non-event inside the ring.
But on the other hand, if I was Floyd and getting paid for what will essentially be a light sparring session, I would do the same thing. This is pretty much no different than your favorite IG celebrity or rapper making a club appearance solely for a check. Good for Floyd, if he can find a way to continue to grow his wealth without taking the damage associated with the sport, why not.
Here is what Mayweather had to say.
“February 20th, we haven’t chosen an opponent yet but I look forward to it and hopefully we give you guys something to see,” said Mayweather, who has expressed an interest promoting multiple events in the Middle East.
“It’s going to be a very special crowd, not too many people,” Mayweather said. “So if you get the chance to come here, you must know, you’re very, very special for this event.”
