Madea Goes To Jail Actress Ion Overman Arrested For Scamming $3 Million PPP Loans

The list of notable celebrities and athletes being involved in PPP loan fraud scams seems to be growing by the day and we can now add another notable celeb to the list.

Ion Overman, who starred in Madea Goes to Jail, is named in an indictment in Georgia, along with 18 other entertainers and CEOs who are accused of committing PPP fraud.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a man named Mark C. Mason Jr is being accused of being the mastermind and main co-conspirator behind the whole scheme. Mason is accused of submitting fraudulent loan applications and helping others do the same, charging people a 2-5% “success fee.”

Others named in the indictment include music producer Carlos “Clos” Stephens, who has worked with Master P and his son, Lil Romeo. Actor Dale Godboldo, who has appeared in The People Vs O.J. Simpson and Thor, was also named, along with Marvin Lewton, a media personality known as OG Shadi Powers.

The indictments said the defendants would conspire with Mason to produce fake versions of IRS Form 941 documents displaying falsified payroll numbers to be submitted to an approved PPP lender.

One of the cases even involved a defendant who worked as an employee for the IRS and was accused of supplying Mason with signed PPP loan applications that were missing figures for the number of employees, average monthly payroll, or requested loan amount.

Even though some of the entertainers named in the indictments live all over the country, they all have business relationships with Mason, based in Atlanta. Hence, they are being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Georgia.

Not much else is known about the case and the accused have yet to address any of the allegations.

This just goes to show you, that despite whatever your favorite celeb, musician or athlete shows you on IG, they may actually be flat broke or at least not as rich as they claim to be on the internet.
