We’re almost halfway into the NBA season and Ben Simmons still hasn’t played a game and it’s very likely that he doesn’t play a game with the Sixers ever again.
Trading him before the NBA trade deadline is the best thing for both sides at this point.
Off the court though, Ben seems to be thriving. A couple of weeks ago, a tattoo artist accidentally potentially leaked that Ben and his girlfriend Maya Jama were engaged.
Now, according to Awesemo, those rumors are starting to heat up after Miss Jama was seen out on a date with Ben with a really big ring on her ring finger. It definitely looks like an engagement ring.
Only time will tell if they’re really engaged or not.
As far as the trade offers for Ben here is what we know.
With the NBA trade deadline a month away, Ben Simmons’ agent — Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul — met with Philadelphia 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and general manager Elton Brand on Wednesday, and the sides remain at a stalemate over the All-Star guard’s immediate future, sources told ESPN.
Simmons is no closer to honoring the team’s hopes for a return to the court this season — and the Sixers’ steep asking price has brought Simmons no closer to a potential trade, sources told ESPN.
Paul told the Sixers that Simmons’ mental health hurdles continue to preclude him from a return to play with the team, and the desire for a trade out of Philadelphia remains in place, sources said.
Simmons, 25, is signed through the 2024-25 season — a five-year, $177 million maximum contract — and continues to be subjected to significant fines for games missed and absences from team functions.
Sixers continue to believe that Simmons maybe not being truthful about his mental health. Who do you believe and do you think Simmons will get traded by the deadline.
