Offset has reacted to allegations that he ordered an attack on a fan for asking his wife Cardi B for an autograph in 2018 and according to him, the allegations are false. Radar Online is reporting that Offset is asking the court to trash all claims against him brought by a man named Giovanni Arnold.
Here is a breakdown of what happened via TJB:
Reportedly, Arnold is accusing Offset of ordering his security team to beat him up outside of the Mark Hotel in New York for asking Cardi B, born Belcalis Almánzar, for an autograph.
The alleged incident occurred In 2018 after the Met Gala. According to Arnold, he approached Cardi B for an autograph but the ‘Wap’ rapper ignored him, which made him ask her again. Following his second autograph request, Cardi, 29, allegedly turned to him and threatened to “slap the sh*t outta” him.
Arnold claims that Offset added to his wife’s threat and said, “shut up, bro, before a n*gga beat you out here.” He adds that Cardi and Offset then directed their security to physically attack him and 3 men “savagely beat” him on the street. Reportedly, Arnold was taken to the hospital where he received treatment for his injuries. He is suing for unspecified damages for his medical bills, psychological harm and emotional distress.
Despite the plaintiff’s serious allegations, Offset is claiming that he had nothing to do with the attack, and the assault “claim is barred,” according to his recent court filing. The court documents add that the rapper; “did not engage in any physical conduct that intentionally placed [Arnold] in imminent apprehension of harmful conduct.”
In addition to that, Offset reportedly questions whether Arnold truly suffered any emotional distress following the attack.
The Migos are always in some sort of fight or brawl with fans, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was true.
Then again it could all be a money grab.
