Draymond Green on the latest episode of his podcast “The Draymond Green Show”, said he still believes Barnes holds a grudge against him for bringing Durant to Golden State Warriors.
Here is what Draymond Green had to say about Harrison Barnes inviting everyone to his wedding except him.
“Harrison Barnes, I think to this day don’t like me for KD coming here. 0And the reality is, I didn’t tell [Warriors GM Bob Myers] to trade you to bring KD in. He took it very personally because of that story that came out that I cried to KD in the car. He took it very personally at me. This dude invites Steph, Klay, everybody to his wedding except me.”
“I didn’t take it personally ’cause it is what it is. … It sucks that you got traded but you went and made your money.”
Total Pro Sports has more on Harrison Barnes’ NBA career at the Warriors.
Barnes was an important part of the Warriors team that went 73-9 and lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals. However, he shot just 35 percent during that NBA Finals loss in which the Warriors blew a three-games-to-one lead over LeBron James and the Cavs.
In Games 5, 6 and 7, Barnes shot 5-for-32 from the field and 3-for-15 from 3-point range. Barnes may be upset about it, but every single team in the league would make that trade if it meant getting rid of him and securing Kevin Durant.
I can understand why Barnes would hold a grudge, but Draymond also didn’t consider that Barnes just doesn’t like him like that. Even if you are a millionaire weddings are still expensive and Green just didn’t make the cut. It could have nothing to do with what happened on the court. Barnes did indeed get paid but that was more because his performance improved on while with other teams.
