Former NFL RB Herschel Walker is currently running for a senate seat in Georgia so he’s doing a lot media tours to let everyone know his viewpoints.
It’s no secret that Walker is a republican with very republican views so when he says certain things it’s not that surprising. So his newest soundbite isn’t that wild but it will still shock some people.
While being interviewed by Pastor Chuck Allen from Sugar Hill Church, Walker talks about he doesn’t necessarily believe in evolution because humans and apes are currently coexisting. Evolution says that us humans once evolved from apes so Walker wants people to think about how it’s possible for them not to evolve.
Herschel Walker, a Republican candidate in Georgia for the U.S. Senate, is at it again, this time with an extremely dubious argument against evolution. “At one time, science said man came from apes, did it not?” he said during an appearance at a church on Sunday. “If that is true, why are there still apes? Think about it.” The statement, which does not prove the theory of evolution false, nonetheless landed well among the congregation. “Now you’re getting too smart for us, Herschel,” the church’s pastor said. Walker doubled down on his damnation of science, falsely arguing that science alone cannot be responsible for the creation of a baby. “They’re still trying to do that, but they can’t, because there has to be a God,” he said. Walker is the GOP frontrunner to compete against Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) in November.
Everything is pointing towards Walker winning the senate seat so it’ll be interesting to see how Georgians react given there is some science that he doesn’t believe in.
Then again this is Georgia we are talking about and the Republican party. This isn’t even about if you believe in Evolution or not, it is just the sheer stupidity in how they try to debunk things.
