Steve Harvey Says Will Smith Was Weak For Slapping Chris Rock on Stage Where Rock Couldn’t Retaliate

Almost everyone in the world on the internet has reacted to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the just ended Oscars for cracking a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and now, Steve Harvey has also dropped his reaction to the mess.

According to Vlad;

Harvey believes that Smith only slapped Chris Rock for making the joke aimed at Jada Pinkett Smith after seeing her reaction. He also pointed out how the circumstances of Rock hosting the ceremony on stage lent Smith the opportunity to slap him without Rock reacting.

He added that Smith should’ve confronted Rock in the pressroom about the joke, and if he wanted to slap him there, the outcome could’ve gone differently.

Steve also took issue with Will’s initial apology while accepting the award for Best Actor. According to the legendary comedian, Smith’s apology was “raggedy” and believes that he will eventually be banned from the Oscars.

Here was Will Smith’s apology.

Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.

I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.

I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.

I am a work in progress.

Sincerely,

Will
