Taraji P. Henson Compares Jussie Smollett To Emmett Till and Says He Should Be Freed

Taraji P Henson is not happy about Jussie Smollett getting jailed for faking a hate crime while those who brutally beat and killed Emmett Till still walk free. Taraji believes Jussie committed a crime, but she thinks the punishment for his crime is harsh and needs to be freed.

In an Instagram post with the inscription #FREEJUSSIE in a dark background, the EMPIRE actress wrote:

I am not here to debate you on his innocence but we can agree that the punishment does not fit the crime. Emmett Till was brutally beat and ultimately murdered because of a lie and none of the people involved with his demise spent one day in jail, even after Carolyn Bryant admitted that her claims were false.
No one was hurt or killed during Jussie’s ordeal. He has already lost everything, EVERYTHING! To me as an artist not able to create that in itself is punishment enough. He can’t get a job. No one in Hollywood will hire him and again as an artist who loves to create, that is prison.
My prayer is that he is freed and put on house arrest and probation because in this case that would seem fair. Please #freejussie🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

After she posted the comment she was being COOKED in the comment section so she deactivated the comment section preventing people for telling her how off the mark her comments were.

She probably knows she went too far, including an Emmett Till reference. That is a very different type of injustice compared to what is happening to Jussie. Smollett is getting screwed and being made an example of by a crooked and corrupt justice system, but he was the one who committed the crime. Emmett Till didn’t do anything and was beaten brutally to deal. His killers admitted to doing it and didn’t get any jail time. These are apples and oranges situations.
