Before the NBA season, the Lakers were picked as the team to come out of the West and things haven’t gone to plan since.
Their latest loss was just another low point of the season when they squandered a 23 point lead to the Pelicans who have now taken control of the 9th seed in the West.
Right now nothing is going well for them.
The latest loss bring their season total to 43 and it got a Twitter user to notice something interesting. One user noticed that the Lakers social media team never uses LeBron James on the graphic to tell the fans that they lost and wondered if it was in his contract.  That got another user to go back and try to figure out if that was really true.
So Keeny Beecham decided to go through every single post from a loss to track if that were true and who they used as the pics for losses and wins.
Turns out, they really never use Lebron for losses and they don’t use Russell Westbrook or Anthony Davis either. They use them for wins though.
Really interesting tidbit.
Meanwhile, LeBron is dealing with an ankle injury as well as his knee injury
James did not participate in practice, Vogel said. The Lakers star stayed back at the hotel to undergo treatment on the left ankle sprain he suffered in L.A.’s 116-108 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. James was dealing with swelling in the ankle on Monday, the coach said.
Vogel said the timing of Davis readying for a return just as James is dealing with another injury that could keep him out of the lineup fits with the “snakebitten” nature of the Lakers’ season.
“It’s been that type of year,” Vogel said. “It’s one of those things that’s out of our control. It’s unfortunate. But we have to lock in, and again like we’ve done all season, we have to shift our identity on the floor with regards to who’s in and who’s out.”
