Here is what the cops had to say.
On April 14th, 2022, detectives with the Border Interdiction Unit (BIU) conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Park Avenue and Interstate 10. The driver was identified as 47-year-old Imelda Carter. During the stop, approximately 371,000 fentanyl pills, commonly known as “M-30s”, were located. These pills have an estimated street value of $1.4 million. Ms. Carter was turned over to federal partners for further investigation and was eventually booked on multiple felonies. Great job BIU for getting these synthetic opioid pills that have plagued our community off our streets!
I doubt that Carter is a drug kingpin she probably was just a runner, so this doesn’t stop anything until they find the source of the drugs.
While the real drug dealers will be pissed at losing this much product it won’t stop them from getting more product out on the street ASAP.
This only makes an example of what can happen to the runners, but won’t slow down the pipeline.
