Love is indeed blind! R&B singer Monica Arnold is reportedly making a move to marry rapper C-Murder who has been jailed and serving a life sentence in prison. According to MTO News, C-Murder is never getting out of jail unless his case is overturned or gets some presidential pardon but Monica isn’t bothered about it at all.
The two even spent Easter together and she posted a photo of them on Instagram in each other’s arms.
MTO News spoke with one of Monica’s friends who told us, “[C-Murder] and Monica are definitely together [in a relationship]. And [C-Murder] wants to marry Monica.”
The friend continued, “When I heard that [C-Murder] wanted to marry Monica, I was a bit surprised. But the way Monica is talking about [the proposal], I think she’s going to say yes.
Here is how rapper C-Murder was arrested and jailed for life.
C-Murder was arrested in 2002 in connection with the murder of 16-year-old fan named Steve Thomas. According to prosecutors, the fan asked C-Murder for an autograph and the rapper beat him nearly to death, then shot him in cold blood.
On August 14, 2009, C-Murder was sentenced to life in prison. The rapper is currently incarcerated in the Louisiana State Penitentiary with no scheduled release date.
But his case was not all that cut-and-dry. Controversy surrounding witnesses in C-Murder’s prosecution erupted in 2018 when two major witnesses recanted their statements, claiming they were coerced into testifying against C-Murder by authorities.
C-Murder maintains his innocence, and he, his brothers, and his nephew have all repeatedly requested a new trial.
A Jefferson Parish judge on Wednesday (Jan. 23) quashed Corey “C-Murder” Miller’s latest push to vacate his 2009 conviction for a Harvey nightclub killing.
Judge Stephen Enright Jr. of the 24th Judicial District Court ruled that Miller hadn’t met his burden of proof for post-conviction relief and denied his request for a new trial. The judge also cast suspicion on the recent recantations of two witnesses who testified at Miller’s trial.
“The court finds the recantation evidence presented in this case to be suspect and not reliable,” Enright said, referring to witnesses Kenneth Jordan and Darnell Jordan, no relation, who now say they were coerced and threatened into identifying Miller as the gunman.
