TMZ caught up with Chris Rock’s younger brother Kenny Rock and asked him about the person he is going to step into the boxing ring with following his celebrity boxing match announcement with an opponent yet to be named. Kenny is willing to step into the boxing ring and battle it out with Will Smith for slapping his brother Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Kenny Rock told the camera guy that he isn’t going to talk too much but will rather let his hands do the talking if he is going to step into the boxing ring with Will Smith.
A camera operator from TMZ recently caught up with the 42-year-old actor from Brooklyn shortly after the announcement was made that he will be participating in a celebrity boxing match on June 11th against an opponent that has yet to be determined. When asked if Chris should sign up for a celebrity boxing match against Will Smith, Kenny suggested that he should fight the Oscar Award-winning actor in place of his older brother.
“I should get in the ring with Will Smith,” Kenny said. “I’ll let [my] hands do the talking.”
Kenny isn’t the first of Chris Rock’s siblings to speak out in an aggressive manner against Will Smith and he may not be the last. Chris has six brothers and the first sibling to voice his disdain for Smith was Tony Rock. When the camera operator from TMZ asked Kenny about Tony’s desire to throw hands with Smith, he echoed the sentiment, but he refrained from taking any personal shots at the heralded actor.
“[Tony is] taking it kinda personal and I don’t blame him…I’m taking it personally, but I’m more like a quiet storm,” Kenny said.
It looks like Will Smith may have to rely on the boxing training that he learned in preparation for his leading role in the Muhammad Ali biopic because he’s bound to come across one of the Rock brothers at some point.
Sorry, Kenny Rock but Will Smith isn’t in a perfect state of mind to step into the boxing ring with anyone. Kenny should try it out with Jake Paul or one of those YouTube boxers.
